Here is some information from the Fatima Prayer Group, Portland Divisions website: A Fatima Prayer Cell is a weekly (or monthly) spiritual gathering for small group prayer and study of the Message of Fatima before the Blessed Sacrament or in a home. Members endeavor to grow in holiness and spread the Message of Our Lady of Fatima by responding to her requests for prayer and penance in a spirit of reparation to change themselves and to bring Her message to others.
Why are they called Cells? Just as the cells in a body divide and grow, a prayer group should do the same after there are between 8 to 10 members, or when they have completed the various stages of study, while inviting new members to join the original cell.
Jean Hill Rutter is the Prayer Cell leader here at St. John’s. Members meet at 7:00 PM on the second Sunday of the month, usually in the Saalfeld Room. It is open to people from other parishes, but so far only our parishioners have been attending. If you would like more information, please contact Jean at 503-654-6634 or drop in to the meeting; all are welcome.
