ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC COMMUNITY FOUNDATION (SJCCF)

Announcement was made February 16, 2011, of the first distribution from earnings since the Foundation's inception in 2006. The total amount of the distribution is $8,345 and represents 4% of the endowment funds' earnings available for distribution. The money will be divided between St. John's School and the Church, based on the directions of individual endowments.

Foundation assets have grown to almost $240,000 in the past five years as people have become more aware of needs and tax advantages for contributions. "The Foundation remains committed to working toward providing a sustainable funding mechanism to support the ministries of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and School well into the future," said Denny Stoecklin, President. "God has certainly blessed our efforts during 2010 as nearly 20 couples or individuals have been led to provide direct future support to the parish through their estate gift plans, totaling over $5 million. These people have a deep love and affection for this parish and we ask for the Lord's continued blessings on our work for His church." Specific allocations are as follows:

St. John's Catholic Community Foundation (SJCCF) supports the mission and ministries of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and School, but is an independent, non-profit organization, not under the control of the Parish or the Archdiocese of Portland. Contributions may be sent to the Foundation at 10955 SE 25th Ave., Milwaukie, OR. 97222. Please make checks payable to SJCCF, or St. John's Catholic Community Foundation, and indicate either specific (Church/School) or general use.
