GIVING TO THE ENDOWMENT

Background
The St. John’s Catholic Community Foundation was initiated by the efforts of four parishioners of St. John the Baptist Church, Milwaukie, Oregon in 2006. It is currently recognized as a tax-exempt charitable organization by the State of Oregon and the Internal Revenue Service. The founding individuals recognized the need to establish a mechanism to provide for the long-term financial well-being of St. John the Baptist Church and School, especially given the uncertainty that the recent Diocesan bankruptcy presented. The Foundation is an independent, charitable organization and is not under the control of the Portland Archdiocese. The Foundation is a stand-alone, parishioner-managed organization with the singular concern of furnishing perpetual financial support to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and School.

Our Mission
St. John’s Catholic Community Foundation is an organization formed to assist funding the mission and ministries of St. John the Baptist Church, Milwaukie, Oregon.

Our Vision
The vision of St. John’s Catholic Community Foundation will be to:
• Support the mission and ministry of St. John the Baptist church.
• Support quality Catholic education.
• Develop endowments that create a stable financial base of support for the long term stability of the church and school.
• Provide opportunities for donors to make planned gifts to support church and school ministries.
• Provide a venue for donations that might otherwise be at risk.
• Assist the parish in funding capital improvements and maintenance of the physical plant.
• Invest in a socially conscientious manner.

Oversight of the Foundation is under the direction of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Current officers are Dennis Stoecklin, President; John Redhouse, Vice President; Jean Hill-Rutter, Secretary/Treasurer; Eugene Monaco, and Theresa Koloszar, Members At Large..
