PARISH OFFERTORY PROCESS
What Matters Most? ~ Living Our Faith!
"Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1
Do you see yourself as a person of faith? What is it about your faith that makes it so important in your life? Faith and good deeds, working together, allow us to grow spiritually. Faith without works is dead, according to James 2:26. Living our strengths, using our God-given talents, we demonstrate our faith in everyday actions.
St. John's is not just a building; it is our church (our sacred space). It is also made up of smaller faith groups which we call ministries. For example, our Care Ministry brings Eucharist to those who are homebound. Music Ministry is an essential part of the Mass. And Faith Formation is an integral part of our Catholic family life. It includes Religious Education for children and adults, RCIA (Rite of Catholic Initiation for Adults), bible study groups, and even the homilies at Mass.
Stewardship means trusting in God's goodness and giving of the "first fruits," not from what is left over after the bills are paid, and applies equally to Time, Talent, and Treasure.
We need to be fed. What we have here at St. John's is precious and renewing. We can continue the good that his community has built up, but it takes every one of us to do it.
Now is the time to prayerfully and thoughtfully make a commitment to your parish, not just in time and talent, but also a financial commitment. All three are critical to your healthy, thriving faith community.
Giving is a joyful response to God's generosity!
