SECURITIES
Donors may take advantage of substantial tax savings by donating appreciated stock to the Church or St. John’s Catholic Community Foundation. You may receive a deduction at the fair market value on the date of transfer to St. John’s if you have held the stock or security longer than a year. In addition to receiving a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of such a gift, you may also completely avoid capital gains tax and any sales commission that would be payable upon the sale of the security. Before transferring or sending stock certificates, it is important to notify the Church to ensure proper crediting. When making a gift of stock please contact the parish office at 503-654-5449.
