Safety First Matching Funds Grant
St. John's was awarded its second Archdiocesan Safety First Matching Grant in 2011 to repair crumbling concrete steps and uneven pavement around the parish campus. The award was for up to $10,000 in matching funds for projects that would eliminate hazards and improve safety. A very generous parishioner provided the matching funds so that we could qualify for the grant and the work could be completed.
Automated External Defibrillators
Two AEDs were purchased this year thanks to the generosity of Doris Geber, who funded this life saving equipment in memory of her husband, Jim. One of the AEDs is located in the church by the sacristy, and the other is located in the Parish Center by the Religious Education office. A grant from the Clackamas Fire District also helped to offset the cost of this equipment. An additional AED was received last year for the school through a grant from Providence Vascular Institute as part of the Portland Bridge Pedal program.
